Charlene deGuzman was born and raised in San Jose, California. At age six, she begged her parents fordance lessons after seeing Rudy Huxtable tap dance on The Cosby Show.

They happily obliged, and she spent her childhood as a competitive dancer, until she fell in love with acting. She studied theatre at Arizona State University, then moved to New York City to perform Off-Broadway. She eventually went on tour and spent two years performing in theatres all over the country. Charlene settled down in Los Angeles in 2008.

Actress Charlene deGuzman recently spotted several people caught up in the virtual world while attending a live concert. She then created I Forgot My Phone, a short film about a girl who forgets her phone and discovers that smartphones are preventing people from living in the moment and are killing face-to-face interactions.
